ABOUT » I'm an adult (22 years-old if you really want to know) and EST. I've been RPing for a little over six years so I know what I'm doing. I spell words properly, follow all grammatical rules, play 3rd person past-tense storybook style, don't godmod, and don't cross the line between IC/OOC. If you cause drama, don't play with me. If you're constantly try to control my character, don't play with me. If you're going to randomly die without telling me, DO NOT PLAY WITH ME.
» If you're going to be gone for a few days, please try to let me know ahead of time (I understand emergencies happen but hardly every single time you need a hiatus). Nothing irritates me more than receiving replies daily only to have them suddenly stop and then a few days later receive a reply with a message attached that says 'lol sorry but I've had a busy week!' I understand RL can tear people away from the computer, but try to give me a little warning before you vanish. Even a quick "sorry, I might not be able to answer for a few days because I really really don't feel like RPing right now" is perfectly fine. Just let me know.
» I prefer threading and googledocs. I've a busy RL that involves friends and summer classes, and therefore I won't always be chained to AIM. Also I always feel pressured to write replies quickly on AIM and when I'm under time constraints, my writing isn't as good. Threads or gdocs give me the time I need to write a worthwhile reply. For plotting purposes, I can either create filtered posts on IJ or talk with you through email. My PSL email is secretcarmilla@gmail.com and I check it daily.
» I play slash - femme - het in that order of preference. Please do not come to me for het if you're a cockhop or only play the girl to live out your own romantic fantasies. I refuse to play against damsel in distress characters. Please do not come to me for slash if you play your boy like a 13 year-old girl or if you play your boy as a 'shy pretty boi who loves to be dominated!!' I don't do top/bottom or submissive/dominant or whatever the hell they call it on IJ these days. All characters have positive and negative traits, and to be honest, I'm sick and tired of playing against stock characters and cliches.
» And yeah, that whole "I'll play the boy for you if you play the boy for me in another line" trend is totally ridiculous. If I play the boy for you, it's because I enjoy the character and you don't have to jump through hoops and throw together a boy character for me. Trust me. It's fine.
» I read a lot of horror (classic and modern), Shakespeare, dystopian novels, and gothic literature. Therefore I tend to incorporate supernatural elements (such as ghosts and magic), corrupt governments, warring families, insanity, intense friendships, and murder into my storylines. I can play vampires, but I prefer vampires that actually drink human blood and do not sparkle. I'll play historical lines but I need to read wikipedia research before we start. I can also play Harry Potter lines, but please note that I hated the epilogue and am more likely to play out AU pairings or rare pairings than those stated in canon. I DO NOT DO CELEB. Sorry, but I don't have the time or effort to research celebrities.
» Yes, I'll play out sex scenes. I prefer for lines to have a sex scene from time to time, but nothing except thrusts and moans will bore me eventually. Plot and character development will always be more important to me than porn. If you're underage, PLEASE TELL ME so we can "fade to black." I've no problem playing with teenagers, but because of legal issues, we cannot play out smut. Sorry.
» I'm not too picky with PBs, but I prefer to play against famous people (meaning no myspace or facebook "stars"). I also don't play against Disney kids or musicians with 500 tattoos. If we're threading on IJ, I love icons and I love expressions. Models are fine as long as they've expressions besides the indifferent model!face. Please make your PB appropriate for your character's age and background.
» Please be nice! I understand that not everyone's looking for a best friend, but I love friendly people who like to write and develop characters as much as I do. :) |
